ORDINANCE NO. 163

An ordinance granting a nonexclusive franchise to Lauderhill Communications Corporation for the furnishing of cable television services within the city limits of the City of Lauderhill; defining cable television services to be provided; authorizing the use of public easements and rights-of-way for such purposes; prescribing the manner of fixing rates; providing for the duration of this nonexclusive franchise; setting a franchise fee; and for other purposes.

Whereas, it is the determination of the city council of the City of Lauderhill, Florida, that it is for the best interests for the City of Lauderhill that cable television service be provided for the residents of Lauderhill; and

Whereas, it is the desire of the City of Lauderhill to grant a nonexclusive franchise for the operation of a cable television company within the City of Lauderhill, and Lauderhill Communications Corporation;

Whereas, through careful investigation, the city council of the City of Lauderhill has determined that Lauderhill Communications Corporation, a corporation licensed to do business under the laws of the State of Florida, is qualified and capable of rendering suitable and satisfactory services to the inhabitants of the City of Lauderhill at a reasonable rate for the return of the award of a nonexclusive franchise.

Now therefore, be it ordained by the city council of the City of Lauderhill, Florida:
