§ 8.03. City attorney.

The city attorney shall be employed by the commission, be the legal officer of the city, serve as legal advisor to the commission and the city manager, shall assure that the city is represented in all legal proceedings and perform any other duties prescribed by this Charter and by ordinance and shall administer oaths. In the absence of the city attorney, the assistant city attorney shall have all such responsibilities and shall perform all such duties.
