§ 7½-37. Code enforcement special master jurisdiction and authority.

  • (a)

    The code enforcement special master ("special master") shall have the jurisdiction and authority to hear and decide alleged violations of the following on a nonexclusive basis (consistent with F.S. § 162.22) as amended, to be determined by the city:

    (1)

    The city zoning ordinances, the land development code as it exists today and as may be amended from time to time, and all ordinances relating to the development, maintenance, use, construction or condition of real property, building or structures within the city, and minimum housing standards.

    (2)

    All city building codes, including, but not limited to, the Florida Building Code.

    (3)

    All city fire codes and any other city ordinances to the extent permitted by law.

    (4)

    In addition to the powers and authority given to the code enforcement special masters for the city pursuant to this chapter, the city may, in its discretion, exercise any powers given to municipalities or their special masters by F.S. ch. 162, as may be amended from time to time.
