§ 20-3. Trucks; use of city streets for through traffic.

(a)

Definitions.

(1)

Streets and roads within the city as used herein shall mean all streets and roads within the city except those roads known as:

State Road 7-441

Rock Island Road

Commercial Boulevard

Oakland Park Boulevard

Sunrise Boulevard

University Drive

Pine Island Road

(2)

Truck as used in this section shall mean any motor vehicle designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property in excess of ten thousand (10,000) pounds gross weight.

(b)

Prohibition. It shall be unlawful for trucks as defined herein to use streets and roads within the city unless necessary for pickup or delivery to a residence or business establishment within the city.

(c)

Penalty. Any person found to be in violation of this section shall be subject to a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
