§ 14-51. Definitions.

  • For the purpose of this article, the following words shall have the meanings indicated unless their context clearly requires otherwise:

    Abandoned property means all wrecked or derelict property having no value other than nominal salvage value, if any, which has been left unattended and unprotected from the elements and shall include wrecked, inoperative or partially dismantled motor vehicles and motor vehicles with no current registration and license plates.

    Code enforcement officers means employees duly authorized by the city as code inspectors.

    Nominal salvage value means the monetary worth of an article of personal property determined by the extent of damage to the article, its useful life and current usefulness, approximate market value and approximate scrap value, to be less than one hundred dollars ($100.00).

    Private property means all lands and improvements other than public lands and improvements.

    Public property means all lands and improvements owned by a governmental body or any governmental agency, including, but not limited to, easements and rights-of-way.
