§ 14-20. Unauthorized connection with city water system or unauthorized tampering with a city utility meter.

(a)

No one other than an authorized city employee shall make a connection with the city water system so as to obtain water which is supplied by the city.

(b)

No one shall tamper with any city meter which has been sealed by the city, tamper with any service locking device, bypass any city meter to obtain utility service, or reconnect utility service after the city has disconnected utility service.

(c)

Any person found guilty of violating this section shall pay a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00), or serve a term in jail not to exceed sixty (60) days, or both.
