§ 10.06. Effective date and transition.

This Charter amendment, upon its approval by referendum vote by the citizens of the City of Lauderhill; certification by the supervisor of elections, Broward County, and proper filing with the secretary of state of the State of Florida shall become effective on October 1, 1996. Section 3.03 shall become effective with the regular city election in March, 1996. The current mayor shall not be required to run for office in the general city election in March, 1996, and his or her term shall be extended to September 30, 1996, at which time it shall terminate.
