§ 9-47. Duties.

It shall be the duty of the fire prevention bureau to make inspection herein authorized; enforce this Code and other ordinances of the city relating to fire prevention; cooperate with the state fire marshal and other officers of the state or county in the enforcement of state laws relating to fire prevention and control; submit to the mayor for recommendation to the council such additional ordinances or amendments to existing provisions of the Code or other ordinances as may be necessary for the safeguarding of life and property within the city against the hazards of fire; and perform such other duties as may be assigned by the fire chief, with the approval of the mayor, in connection with fire prevention and control.
