§ 4-38. Appeals.

  • In the event that any person is aggrieved by a denial, revocation or suspension of a license under this article, such person may appeal from the action of the mayor by filing a written request with the city council within ten (10) days after rendition of the decision by the mayor. Upon receiving such a request, the city council shall schedule and hold a hearing thereon and either affirm, rescind or modify the decision of the mayor. The city council may, by order, extend such period of time. Filing of an appeal shall stay suspension of a license but shall not stay denial or revocation unless the city council shall grant a stay.
