§ 4-29. Killing of dangerous animals.

  • Any dog, other than a law enforcement dog, which bites any person or other animal without provocation when such person or other animal is on or in a public place or lawfully on or in a private place, including the property of the owner of said dog, may be killed at the time of the attack in self-defense by the person attacked or by any person witnessing the attack; and it shall be a complete defense in any action for damages that the dog did bite without provocation.
