§ 2-168. Serving as a voting delegate.

  • At any time when the city commission needs to appoint a member to serve as a voting delegate for attendance at conferences, meetings or activities on behalf of the city, the method of selection for the appointment of voting delegate and alternate voting delegate shall be in the following order, based upon availability and attendance of the member as follows:

    (1)

    The mayor;

    (2)

    The vice-mayor;

    (3)

    The commissioner who most recently had served as vice-mayor;

    (4)

    If none of the foregoing are available or attending the conference, meeting or activity, then the position shall be filled by one (1) of the remaining two (2) commissioners, to decided upon by a vote of the city commission, or in the absence of a vote by the city commission, then as appointed by the mayor.

    The person to serve as the voting delegate shall be filled by the first available person in accordance with the order indicated above. The next available person in the order indicated above shall serve as the alternate voting delegate.
