§ 2-166. Code of ethics.
(a)
Former elected officials. Except as otherwise provided by law, no elected official of the city shall personally represent another person or entity, for compensation, before the city council or any of the city boards or committees or departments for a period of one (1) year following vacation of office. "Elected officials" shall refer to both councilmembers and the mayor.
(b)
Penalties.
(1)
Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00), or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than sixty (60) days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
(2)
Any permits or approvals obtained in contravention of this section shall be null and void.
