§ 2-164. Effective date of legislation.
(a)
All legislation shall become effective in accordance with state law. This shall not prevent reconsideration of the legislation pursuant to section 2-165. Resolutions shall be effective indefinitely and shall be continuing in nature unless expressly stated otherwise therein.
(b)
Ordinances shall be numbered consecutively and resolutions shall be numbered consecutively in separate series. Each number shall be preceded by the numerals designating the year of passage. The originals of all ordinances and resolutions shall be maintained in the office of the city clerk as part of the permanent records of the city. Copies of ordinances shall be immediately forwarded to the entity selected by the city for codification.
