§ 2-159. Order of business.
(a)
At the communications from the public portion of meetings of the city commission, the following order of business shall prevail:
(1)
Call to order.
(2)
Communications from the public (and responses to the public, if time permits during this portion of the meeting of the city commission).
(3)
Adjournment (no later than 7:30 p.m.)
(b)
At all regular meetings of the city commission, the following order of business shall prevail:
(1)
Call to order.
(2)
Roll call.
(3)
Pledge of allegiance to the flag followed by Good and Welfare.
(4)
Consideration of consent agenda.
(5)
Approval of minutes.
(6)
Proclamations/commendations.
(7)
Special presentations.
(8)
General presentations.
(9)
First Reading of Ordinances, if not on consent agenda.
(10)
Communications from public officials shall begin at 9:00 p.m. or immediately before adjournment, whichever shall first occur. If an item of legislation is being discussed at 9:00 p.m., the chair may delay these communications until after the item of legislation has been resolved.
(11)
Second Reading of Ordinances, if not on consent agenda.
(12)
Resolutions, if not on consent agenda.
(13)
Quasi-judicial matters, if not on consent agenda.
(14)
Unfinished business.
(15)
Old business.
(16)
New business.
(17)
Adjournment.
The city clerk may change the order of business when required to do so by law. Communications from the mayor and other public officials may be removed to another position on the agenda by a majority vote of the commission, and may be removed from the agenda by a vote of four (4) commissioners, or a unanimous vote if only three (3) commissioners are present.
