§ 2-144. Cooperative purchasing.

  • The purchasing officer shall have the authority to join with other units of government on cooperative purchasing plans, either to cooperate in a bidding procedure or to utilize the cooperative purchasing plan after the other unit or units of government have awarded the bid or bids, when the best interests of the city would be served thereby and all other requirements of this division have been satisfied. Competitive bidding shall not be required unless it is required during the cooperative purchasing phase. The cooperative purchase must be approved by the city commission.
