§ 2-107. Duties and responsibilities.

The duties and responsibilities of the department of parks and leisure services and the director thereof shall be as follows:

(a)

Operation of all city recreational facilities, equipment and services.

(b)

Operation and maintenance of all city parks and playgrounds.

(c)

Accountability for all city recreational equipment.

(d)

The director shall be ex officio chairman of all city athletic and recreational committees.

(e)

The director shall have the authority to close or otherwise restrict the use of any city recreational equipment or facilities in order to assure the safety of those who use the equipment or facilities.

(f)

The director shall assist in the planning and development of all city parks.
