§ 2-16.1. Same—Additional commission benefits.
In addition to the annual salary to be paid to the commission, each commissioner shall receive the following additional benefits:
(a)
Participation in the city's medical, life and dental insurance plan.
(b)
Total expense monies in the amount of eight hundred fifty dollars ($850.00).
(c)
Two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) of the amount provided in paragraph (b) above is designated towards all automotive expenses (including tolls, mileage, and insurance — but not including parking) of the city commissioners for traveling within the Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties only while using their own vehicles.
The providing of these additional expense monies is in lieu of, and precludes the following:
(1)
The city commissioner is precluded from holding the city liable for any damage to his/her vehicle which may occur while on city business, except if such damage is caused by the gross negligent, or intentional conduct of another employee of the city (other than the commissioner who is operating the vehicle); and
(2)
The city commissioner is not entitled to any other provision of the code to the contrary that otherwise provides for automotive reimbursements.
