§ 2-3.1. Same—Removal of members without cause.

  • (a)

    All members of all boards and committees of the city shall serve on those boards or committees at the pleasure of the commissioner, mayor, or commission as a whole that made the appointment.

    (b)

    Unless otherwise provided by law, any member of any board or committee may be removed at any time without cause as a member of the board or committee by the commissioner, mayor, or commission as a whole that made that appointment.

    (c)

    When any commissioner or the mayor leaves office or his or her term ends, the terms of all members of boards or committees who were previously appointed by that commissioner or the mayor shall terminate sixty (60) days after the elected official's successor takes office, unless that elected official's successor shall, by written document, extend the terms of any or all such board or committee members.

    (d)

    If the commissioner or mayor who made the appointment is no longer an elected official, the person who succeeded the mayor shall be considered the person who originally appointed all of the mayor's appointees and the commissioner who assumed the original commissioner's seat number shall be considered the commissioner who originally appointed all of that commissioner's appointees.
