§ 20-14. Designated fire lanes, fire access roads, fire hydrants, or fire station access.

  • (a)

    Fire lane or fire access road. No person shall cause a motor vehicle to park, stand, stop or otherwise obstruct an area marked or designated "Fire Lane" or "Fire Access Road."

    (b)

    Fire hydrants. No person shall cause a motor vehicle to park or otherwise obstruct any area within fifteen (15) feet of a fire hydrant.

    (c)

    Fire station access. No person shall cause a motor vehicle to park, stand, stop or otherwise obstruct any area within twenty (20) feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station.

    (d)

    Penalty. Any person, entity, firm or corporation found guilty of violating any provision of this section shall be assessed the total amount of forty-five dollars and fifty cents ($45.50). This total amount includes the base fine amount of thirty dollars ($30.00) pursuant to F.S. § 318.18(2)), in addition to all other surcharges, costs and fees permitted by Florida Statutes in accordance with law. This amount specifically includes a three dollar ($3.00) assessment for the purpose of funding a firefighter education program, pursuant to F.S. §§ 316.008(5)(a) and 318.18(2). This amount also includes a five dollar ($5.00) assessment for the purpose of funding the school crossing guard program, pursuant to F.S. § 318.21(11)(a). This amount also includes a five dollar ($5.00) civil court collection fee and a two dollar and fifty cent ($2.50) civil court processing fee, any of which may be amended from time to time.
