§ 14-57. Removal of abandoned property in case of emergency.
Latest version.
In the event that abandoned property is found unattended upon a bridge or on any public
highway or thoroughfare, where such property constitutes an obstruction to or of traffic,
or where the abandoned property is found unattended on private property and is an
immediate threat to the health and safety of the residents of the city, a police officer
is hereby authorized to provide for the immediate removal of any such abandoned property
to the nearest garage or other place of safety, cost of such removal to be a lien
against said abandoned property, and notice shall be otherwise given, as above described,
and as circumstances permit.
