Chapter 14. OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS |
Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 14-8. Dishonored check or other order for payment to the city.
A service fee shall be charged and retained by the city in the amount designated below or five (5) percent of the face amount, whichever is greater, for the collection of a dishonored check, draft or other order for the payment of money to the city. The service fees permitted are as follows:
(1)
Twenty-five dollars ($25.00), if the face value does not exceed fifty dollars ($50.00);
(2)
Thirty dollars ($30.00), if the face value is more than fifty dollars ($50.00) but does not exceed three hundred dollars ($300.00);
(3)
Forty dollars ($40.00), if the face value is more than three hundred dollars ($300.00).
This service fee shall be in addition to any other penalties which are now or may be hereafter imposed by law.
