§ 12-77. Records required; information about article and seller.

  • (a)

    Every person or business entity engaging in the business of a pawnbroker or conducting a pawnshop in the City of Lauderhill shall keep a complete and clear record of every article or thing pawned to or purchased by said person or business entity. The articles or things shall be identified for the record by size, make, model, color, serial numbers and any other specific description available.

    (b)

    The aforesaid required records shall specify the date received, the article or thing, such as number, mark, and all other such details as will make identification of such article or thing clear and positive.

    Any persons selling or pawning articles must present positive identification such as a driver's license with photograph. A record of the seller's full name, address, phone number, sex, race and date of birth shall be obtained and made a part of the records kept by the pawnbroker.
