§ 12-44. Clairvoyance, fortune-telling, etc.—Investigation of application.

All applications for certificates of use and local business tax receipts within the meaning of sections 12-41 through 12-42 hereof shall be submitted to the police department of the city for investigation for a report as to the truth of the statements contained in the application. The police department of the city shall institute an investigation as to the statements contained in the application and report to the city administration, along with the recommendations of the chief of police as to the granting or refusal of the certificate of use and the local business tax receipt applied for.
