§ 11-50. Health and social service user fees for latchkey program.

(a)

After-school latchkey program fees shall be according to the following fee schedule:

(1)

The minimum fee shall be twenty dollars ($20.00) per child per week for households wherein the annual income shall be less than thirty-four thousand nine hundred ninety-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents ($34,999.99).

(2)

For households wherein the total income shall be thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000.00) or higher per year, the latchkey program schedule fee shall be as follows:

$35,000.00 to $39,999.99	Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per week for the first child; the fee for all additional children in the same household will be twenty dollars ($20.00) weekly per child.
$40,000.00 to $44,999.99	Thirty dollars ($30.00) per week for the first child; the fee for all additional children in the same household will be twenty dollars ($20.00) weekly per child.
$45,000.00 to $49,999.99	Thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per week for the first child; the fee for all additional children in the same household will be twenty dollars ($20.00) weekly per child.
$50,000.00 or higher	Forty dollars ($40.00) per week for the first child; the fee for all additional children in the same household will be twenty-one dollars and fifty cents ($21.50) weekly per child.

 

(b)

The above fees shall be applicable in the event that said fees are paid prior to the monthly billing date wherein latchkey user fees are billed by the city. In the event that the above-listed fees shall not be paid until on or after said monthly billing date, a service charge of five dollars ($5.00) shall be added to each individual fee.

(c)

Children will be accepted from age five (5) through age twelve (12) with five-year old children receiving the greatest preference as to registration in the program and preference then being reduced in ascending order of age.

(d)

Enrollment shall be limited to the children of Lauderhill residents.

(e)

The parent or custodian of the child shall pick up the child prior to 6:00 p.m. on any day when the child has been placed in the program. In the event that the child is not picked up by 6:00 p.m., there shall be an additional charge, which shall be assessed over and above all other charges for this program, which shall be assessed in the following manner:

(1)

The first day on which the child is not picked up by 6:00 p.m., there shall be an additional charge of five dollars ($5.00) for each fifteen-minute segment, or portion thereof which occurs after 6:00 p.m., until the child is picked up.

(2)

The second day on which the child is not picked up by 6:00 p.m., there shall be an additional charge of six dollars ($6.00) for each fifteen-minute segment, or portion thereof which occurs after 6:00 p.m., until the child is picked up.

(3)

On the third day, and each subsequent day thereafter, on which the child is not picked up by 6:00 p.m., there shall be an additional charge of seven dollars ($7.00) for each fifteen (15) minute segment, or portion thereof which occurs after 6:00 p.m., until the child is picked up.

(4)

All fees assessed under this subsection (e) shall be paid by noon of the day following the day that the fee is incurred or the child shall be ineligible to continue in the program until all such fees have been paid.
