§ 10-7. Placing, sweeping, scattering, littering, or dumping prohibited.

Latest version.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to place, sweep, scatter, litter, dump or cause to be placed, swept, scattered, littered, or dumped, any garbage, trash, or litter in or upon any street, sidewalk, alley, canal, watercourse, vacant lot, city park or city property of any kind or upon any improved property, within the limits of the city.

Shopping carts and unauthorized signs shall be considered litter for purposes of this section. The city manager may negotiate contracts with shopping cart owners for the return of shopping carts by city personnel. Such contracts, if negotiated and enforced, would take priority over enforcement of this section with respect to shopping carts.

F.S. ch. 403, entitled "Environmental Control, Part I, Pollution Control," as existing or as may be amended from time to time, is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference into this Code for enforcement purposes of this section.
