§ 10-13. Multifamily dwellings, garbage and trash collection requirements.

  • (a)

    This section does not pertain to multifamily dwellings which utilize bulk containers.

    (b)

    There shall be a separate garbage and trash receptacle for each dwelling unit in each multifamily dwelling.

    (c)

    Each garbage and trash receptacle shall be placed in the swale area at the address where the dwelling is located, and shall be placed only on dates and times which are specified for garbage and trash collection at that address.

    (d)

    Each garbage and trash receptacle shall be clearly and legibly marked with the street address where the dwelling unit is located and with the dwelling unit number, if applicable. Each letter or number shall be at least three (3) inches high and shall be in a color contrasting with the color of the garbage and trash receptacle. Only one (1) color shall be utilized for all letters and numbers.

    (e)

    The price for the garbage and trash receptacle, to be paid by the customer, shall be fifty-five dollars ($55.00) if paid before November 1, 1995.

    (f)

    If the garbage and trash receptacle is not paid for by the customer prior to November 1, 1995, the price shall then be sixty-six dollars ($66.00), and the customer shall then be subject to the terms of section 21-46(s) of the Code.

    (g)

    Any person, firm, corporation or organization found guilty of violation of this section shall be fined and/or imprisoned not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or thirty (30) days, or both.
